Capital Lux 2: Generations is a stand-alone sequel to the 2016 acclaimed tactical card from the designers of The Magnificent, Santa Maria & Trails of Tucana.

This new streamlined version introduces a range of exchangeable capital powers that can be mixed and matched as you like. This allows for a total of 256 unique power combinations. One of these combinations plays as the original Capital Lux, while the other 255 present the players new tactical challenges.

• The core of the game revolves around the following dilemma: Do you play character cards in your home base for points, or contribute them to the capital to benefit from their powers?
• At the end of a round, you are not allowed to have a higher total value in your home base for any color than the current total value in the capital. Exceeding the limit makes you lose those cards.
• At the end of the third round, all cards remaining in your home base are worth points.

The game therefore turns into an act of balancing on a razor’s edge: Secure as many points for yourself without exceeding the capital’s limit — always taking into account the current capital powers.

Do I need to know the original Capital Lux?

Not at all! Capital Lux 2 is a completely stand-alone game, and gives you the chance to experience everything from the original game, as well as the tons of new variations and powers introduced by this sequel.

What is Capital Lux?

Capital Lux was released in 2016, and was very well received by both reviewers and players. The core system is that you draft a number of cards that you then must play – one by one – either into your Home base (to compete for points), or into the Capital to activate the card’s special power. At the end of each round, the total value in each colour in your Home base must be lower than that in the capital. Or else you will lose those cards. This creates a tense tactical game where you must find the balance between scoring points for yourself and contributing cards to the common Capital. And then of course, the Capital Powers will mix things up…

What is new in Capital Lux 2: Generations?

In this remake, we have streamlined the game’s rules, but the major change is the introduction of a Mix&Match system for the capital powers. In the original game, there were four such powers, one for each color. In Capital Lux 2: Generations you can have a unique set of powers each time you play. This greatly increases the variation, and make sure that each game offers new tactical challenges.

Capital Lux 2: Generations comes to life thanks to amazing art from Kwanchai Moriya. With 5 new characters, first introduced to you in Rebel Nox, another game in the Capital Lux universe, Capital Lux 2: Generations’ exceptional artwork is fully part of the gaming experience.
